History, tradition, culture, taste and flavor in a world of good wines in Downtown Restaurant.
Our restaurant is hosting every last Friday of the month the event of Wine.md which is organized with the support of domestic producers of wines and cognacs.
For wine tasting on the 28 October were offered to the wine lovers the high quality red wines and divines appreciated with diplomas and medals at the national and international competitions. Our guests had the opportunity to taste and discover some best blended wines of Moldova:
Codru Cricova Prestige 2005, dry red wine
F’autor Cabernet Sauvignon & Merlot-Fablula 2009, dry red wine
Lancellotta Albastrele Acorex Wine Holding, dry red wine
Red Romanesti 2007, Reserve, dry red wine
Cuza Voda Agrovin Divine Bulboaca-five years old

The tasting was accompanied by stories, history and tips on wine and divine from Mr. Igor Caldare.
By the end of event the every guests had chosen a wine according to its own taste.

The tasting of the Shervin’s and Sherry wines was the first from the series of the events dedicated to the tasting of Moldovan wines. For the first event were chosen the Shervins, as they are very special wines with unique characteristics but unfortunately are not produced anymore in Moldova and the only available stock is at Ialoveni winery.

The guests had possibility to taste 6 types of Shervin. The event was leaded by the Igor Caldare, a well known specialist in wine technology.

His explanations about the specifics of the wine tasting helped guests to discover the unique bouquet of the Shervin and Sherry wines.

This type of events are planned to be organized every last Friday of the month and our main idea is to attract the wine lovers and to teach the culture of wine consumption. Our guests will have possibility to discover the best Moldovan wines and make sure that any meal you are planning to have, you will choose the best wine for it.

At Wine week "ExpoVin Moldova '2011 ', on February 18, Codru team of cooks headed by Australian chef Daniel Hoenig, presented a master class at the Theatre of Wine and Gastronomy.

Codru team prepared for guests, meat dishes with wine-based sauces: chicken stuffed with mushrooms, sun dried tomatoes, arugula, served with creamy tarragon and Traminer, ripe cherry tomatoes and infused mini - polenta with herbs.

Delicious food was perfectly matched with wine F'autor Traminer 2008. The second wine served, Cabernet Sauvignon 2007 accompanied beef with potato fondue, spinach, quail eggs, pepper and brown sauce flavored with reduction of Cabernet Sauvignon. The team impressed the audience, creating a perfect gourmet tandem.

Those who could not attend the event have the opportunity to discover the taste of the presented dishes in the Codru restaurant.
